Borge Morgenson 1950s Teak and Beech Desk

Børge Morgenson trained as a cabinet maker in 1934 and went on to design some of the most renowned Danish home furniture designs of the 1950s and 1960s. He was known as a furniture designer who created high-quality furniture at affordable prices.

An exceptionally productive man, Morgenson’s collection of designs amounts to thousands! An ever active mind meant new ideas could come to him at any time of the day or night, so new designs were scribbled down on anything he had to hand when the inspiration struck; matchboxes, table napkins, creased envelopes! Such a humble beginning for his now highly sort after designs.

His lifelong mission was to create attractive, simple and practical wooden furniture for everyone, very affordable, but never at the expense of functionality. He disapproved of colleagues who succumbed to the whims of fashion, ignored functionality or used excessively expensive materials.

Designed by Borge Morgenson for Soborg Mobelfabrik in 1952, this Scandinavian desk is absolutely stunning and practical!
If you are looking for real office style you can’t get better than this teak and beech desk with suspended drawers and clean straight legs. In lovely condition, it has been carefully refurbished by hand by our volunteers and trainees to give a beautiful finish.
